How Does Crypted.Co’s Encryption Work?
Crypted Email Version 3.0.0 uses the set of algorithms described in the below table to encrypt different files types based on 128 bits length encryption key. There is a hope to make all encryption algorithms use 256 bits length encryption key. However, since applying such an encryption requires considerable amount of processing and memory infrastructure, we have decided to use a compromise key length (128) and to use two different algorithms for each file type; primary algorithm and secondary algorithm. The plugin will first try to encrypt an attachment file using the primary encryption algorithm, and in case of failure because of insufficient memory or processing capabilities, algorithm is not able to operate on the installed release of Microsoft Office or Windows, or any other reason, the plugin will use the secondary encryption algorithm which will work with minimum infrastructure requirements.
